Mindful Self-Compassion Practices

Guided meditations from the 8 week Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) Course

Self Compassion Break: Bringing awareness, Common Humanity, and Kindness to our experience and ourselves, when we are struggling - allowing ourselves to rest in a state of warm hearted connected presence.

Loving Kindness for a Loved One: Practicing loving kindness (Metta) through the offering of phrases, wishes for happiness: We start with bringing a loved one to mind, and then slowly include ourselves too into this circle of kindness.

Soften Soothe Allow: Meeting Difficult Emotions Practicing meeting difficult emotions with Mindfulness & Self Compassion: labelling the emotion, feeling it in the body, and then practicing Softening, Soothing and Allowing.

Compassion for Self and Others: Practicing expanding our circle of giving and receiving compassion to include any sentient being that may arise in your mind.

Affectionate Breathing: Infusing mindfulness of breathing with warmth and affection: allowing ourselves to be comforted, soothed, supported and nourished by the rhythm of our breathing.

Loving Kindness for Ourselves: Practicing offering Loving Kindness to yourself: Offering yourself the words or phrases that are most meaningful to you - words that you need to hear.

Compassion with Equanimity: Experience how equanimity supports self-compassion: in balancing caring for others with caring for ourselves.

Soles of the feet: Anchoring and grounding our awareness with Mindfulness of the Sensations of the Soles of our Feet & Mindful Walking: A way to calm and anchor the mind when we feel emotionally overwhelmed or ungrounded.

Giving and Receiving Compassion: Practicing balancing compassion for self and others by using the in breath to offer kindness and compassion to ourselves, and the out breath for offering to others.

Compassionate Friend: Discover and connect with your inner compassionate friend - this wise and compassionate presence that is always there for you.

“Knowing oneself comes from attending with compassionate curiosity to what is happening within.”
